A feature documentary / concept by Russ Littlefield, Dean Farrell and Paul Dagostino.
“Souldier” is a feature documentary about American veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and their struggles to get the government services owed them while they transition back into a society that does not understand what they have been through, or how to deal with the emotional and physical scars they bear.
“Souldier” shines light on the lives of those we pay to defend America and asks a critical question. What is a soldier’s value? Is that value calculated only on the battlefield? And what does the country owe these men and women who risk their lives so that Americans can remain free?
The viewer sees the realty of soldier’s world and feels their anger and frustration of what they are going through. One veteran sums it up like this: “The words “homeless” and “veteran” should never go together.”
